LA Galaxy provides food during pandemic

LA Galaxy teams with Chancho’s Tacos provided meals to those impacted by coronavirus

LOS ANGELES (MNS) – The LA Galaxy and Chancho’s Tacos sent the LA Galaxy-branded taco truck to various sites throughout Los Angeles last April 6-10 to offer thousands of meals to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including medical workers at Dignity Health, volunteers at Carson elementary schools and those working in local grocery stores.

The LA Galaxy Chancho’s Taco Truck was stationed each day outside of different areas throughout Los Angeles to provide meals.

The LA Galaxy Chancho’s Tacos Truck made stops at two hospitals within Dignity Health’s Southern California network: the Glendale Memorial Hospital and the Northridge Hospital. Additionally, the truck stopped at a Northgate Grocery Store in Norwalk and two local Carson elementary schools, part of the club’s Champion Project: Curtis Middle School and Stephen M. White Middle School. Dignity Health is the official healthcare partner of the LA Galaxy.

“The show of support from our communities has been overwhelming, as our caregivers, staff, and physicians face the growing needs of COVID-19 patients,” said Julie J. Sprengel, president of Dignity Health’s Southwest Division. “The generosity of the LA Galaxy and Chancho’s Tacos is greatly appreciated.”

In March, the LA Galaxy announced the launch of the TOGETHER AT HOME campaign, a club-wide initiative to support, engage and inform LA Galaxy fans and the Los Angeles community amidst effects from COVID-19.
